- Ranking drops after publication: A new page goes live, and shortly thereafter, existing pages lose visibility for the same keyword.

Quick test with site search and GSC
The first step is free. With site:domain.de "[keyword]" Google displays all indexed URLs that contain the keyword — if multiple pages with the same intent overlap, the suspicion is confirmed. Then go to Google Search Console: Performance report → Filter by the search query → „Pages“ tab. If multiple URLs appear for the query with significant impressions or clicks, check each URL individually for its intent.
If you want to check multiple keywords in parallel, export the GSC data and build a pivot table in Google Sheets with queries as rows and pages as columns. This will make overlaps visible. GSC is sufficient for most diagnoses. Paid tools accelerate broad analysis but do not replace intent checking.
Deep dive with Ahrefs/Semrush

If a real case is identified, there are four options to choose from. The correct choice depends on which function the weaker URL still performs.
